Memories on a shirt!

I used to keep things in a box, I really liked that! I kept everything that I thought can have a meaning for me! but I do not do that anymore! Not because I have grown since then, but just beacuse I have moved several times in my life! Sometimes it's pretty difficult to take my memories everywhere I go. But, there are some things that I do keep with me. My old school shirts!

Yeah! It sounds a little bit common to keep these things, but the only reason I still have my shirts, it's because in Venezuela we have a tradition. When you pass from the sixth grade to the seventh grade, from the ninth grade to the tenth grade and in the last year when you graduate from high school, your friends, schoolmates and teachers write messages on your shirt! We do it in those grades because in Venezuela we have an uniform for every school, not like here in Colombia, that each school has its own uniform. So that, in Primary school you wear a white shirt, in Elementary school you wear a blue shirt and in High School you wear a beige shirt! So, you change the color of your shirt in those grades!. because of that you have to celebrate it! The last day of school, you have to take with you at least 3 shirts, with a bunch of markers! And the fun starts, you have to think and write messages to all of your classmates!. I keep my shirts with those messages, because I always have liked to remember who I used to be when I was a certain age! Who was my BFF in that time! Who studied with me! All the experiences that I had! Everything! With some words you can have a flash back of your past! I think, that is really cool! I love to read my shirts every time I move ( and believe me they have been a lot of times!) hahaha so I am always thinking of my old friends! hahaha I think that High School, it's one of the best time of a person's life! In that stage, you discover yourself! You decide who you want to be in a future! It's a good stage!. I have kept awesome memories with those shirts! I always read a message in particularly, beacuse that friend died 4 years ago! but, once again, I think this is what life should be! A daily struggle! A fight! A trip! An amazing journey!

That is why I love to remember who I was, because with that I can remember who I am now, and who I want to be in a future!. So that, those shirts are my dear old stuffs!

  1. well that tradition also exist on Colombia but I think it's been lost with the years. I never did that. I agree with the importance of the past and the future. Did your friend signed all the shirts? I would e shocked if I had something like that
